Introducing new legislation is a complex and at times protracted business. The process takes at least twelve months, and has been known to take as long as ten years or more. The following example shows the partial revision of the Federal Act on Radio and Television (RTVA). The process began in 2009 and ended with the law’s entry into force on 1 July 2016.
